I hear it's gonna do nothing...

It's far easier for griefers to randomly gank someone questing alone in an unpopulated area than it is to actually do an organized battleground...

We'll have to see what kinds of rewards battlegrounds will offer... They added the Gurubashi temple in STV, with a random chest every 3 hours... and the random ganking/camping hasn't really subsided...

battlegrounds will be much, much bigger than that.

Blizzard has come out and said that you will be able to accrue honor much *much* faster playing in the BG than just being a roving gank squad. Not only will it be a target-rich environment, but I believe you're supposed to get additional honor point rewards for quests/objectives within the BG.

I can say I have my reserves. Given Blizzard's record the full implementation of BG could very well be still a year off.

Additionally while it will be interesting to see how class balance issues affect this overal.

I think with all the people playing the game and sending them $15/month, they really should look into upgrading that TRS-80 they're using as the primary game server....

I share your reserves, for the most part. However, they've said publicly that at least 2 different BGs will be in the next patch. :)

Blizzard does seem to implement faster than other *cough SOE* game companies I've seen. The game is still pretty new and they have already made a lot of good changes.

They say they will hold BG battles on different servers so the lag won't be an issue....I hope that is true because it gets pretty bad at TM these days.

the planned battlegrounds look pretty damn cool... lemme find a link to a program that will decode the map files on your computer so you can see the areas.
