In the last patch, they added in a quest attached to the Arena Master trinket that you get every time you loot the chest in the arena in stv. For the quest, you need to collect the trinket 12 times, and turn it in to the npc in the arena. As a reward, he gives you http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=40294 . The chest also has a chance to drop some cool items, though most are 35-40.

Useless info below, only read if bored
------

Anyway, I've looted the chest 2 or 3 times now (with help from other CkB guys& gals). Today, I noticed it was 7 minutes to drop time and I didn't have anything to do. So I hopped on the zepp and flew over. Also on the zepp were maybe 5 other 60s. I had to guess that some of them were going to be going for the chest as well. Upon arrival at Grom'Gol, accidently took the wind rider to Booty Bay and had to ride from there.

By the time I reached the arena, sure enough, there was a 5-man of Merciless to Midgets and an Iron Jackal, all 55+. The chest dropped right as I arrived, and I noticed none of the horde or alliance around the rim were going up against the 5 high levels standing the middle. Deciding I could take down a few guys, start up some trouble, and maybe get back in time for the chest to still be there, I jumped in and blinked into the middle of the group. Several other high levels followed me in. Apparently, the M2M guys weren't expecting me, and were all pretty dead from aoe bombs by the time I died.

Before releasing, I looked around and was glad to see that a full-scale battle had erupted around the chest. Not actually expecting the chest to still be there, I ran back in ghost form. Much to my delight, the chest was indeed still there. I stood there as a ghost watching the alliance slowly dominating, and finally rezzed when a pally had all but opened the chest. I took out the pally and was killed by his friends, but by now some others had rezzed as well and I still had a small measure of hope.

Once again, I ran back from the graveyard and got there with the chest still on the ground. I stood around waiting similar to the first time, and watched the chest disappear after a druid (who shouldn't have had enough time) attempted to open the chest. So, the chest was gone, and I rezzed, deciding I'd head back to BB to gather my bearings then teleport out. As I'm leaving, I notice several tells from the primary horde group I'd killed, all seeming very angry that I had crashed their party.

One of the M2M guys left the arena behind me and attacked, which I was pretty much expecting at that point. I wouldn't do it myself, but I can understand the frustration he must've had. I attempted to kill him, but a Ruin rogue came up and together they finished me and fought each other. No big deal I thought, I'd run back and get my corpse, then leave without PvP tags on.

By the time I got to my corpse the third time, I was in a full-scale argument with one of the M2M guys.

-----

To make an unnecessarily long story short, I ruined the chances of M2M to get the chest. They got very mad at me, and we're now on hostile terms. I want to know if anyone agrees with me (there's nothing wrong with fighting your own faction to try and get the chest), or them (it doesn't matter who gets it as long as the other faction doesn't. And the people with the best chance should get it by default). Input appreciated ^^

I've never actually gone to the Gurubashi event. The nature of the arena pretty much guarantees that you're gonna cause some damage to members of your own faction. Hey...it's free-for-all.

If the M2M guys took exception to the fact that you were competing against THEM for the chest, maybe they should've targetted YOU first, rather than expecting you to support them. All rules go out da window in the arena.

i think it should go like this. kill the dirty humans/NEs/nomes/dwarves first, and then if u must, attack your horde brethren

Sorry, but the M2M guys are about the last group that get to say squat about anything pertaining to support of your faction. Grief them all you can in my book.

I was using m2m to abbreviate merciless to midgets. I know it's supposed to be mercy to midgets, but whatever. Unless you all knew it was merciless and your posts were directed at them anyway.

I though Merciless to Midgets were the good one and Mercy to Midgets the bads ones, and he refers to the first here. But anyway it doesn't matter, first to the chest no holds barred!!! Every man (or woman) for themselves (and guild) when it comes to that!

Any guild with midget is on my shit list. Too many to keep them straight, so I just kill em all given the opportunity.

Don't mind the warlock, we are testy creatures. Its from all the previous patches that have nerfed us beyond usefulness. Thank goodness Blizzard had a change of heart in 1.5 :D
