Just saw it, great flic. Lots of action, fast paced, hot chicks, about 1000 times better than MI 3.

To someone that is a die hard xmen fan the movie cannot be compared to the "lore" very closely and survive. There were several times during the movie that they used events in the comics, but as a whole the plot was built on its own.

That being said I enjoyed the move a lot...and was suprised at how good they scaled down Jean Grey's powers to fit into the limited universe that they have created....

Ok I am rambling....Good movie go see it

OMFG!!!!!!!! Did you see the GHOST RIDER (http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/ghostrider/) trailer.... (can you guess this is Ragz favorite comic char of all time)

I see from the hype, they brought in Callisto who lead the Murlocks underneath NYC... but the whole Dark Phoenix Saga had a lot to do with Mastermind and the Hellfire Club... which, I don't think is in this movie.

I guess they had to take 3 decades worth of stories and try to put them into a trilogy... so I can't imagine that they'd be able to follow the comic as closely as fanatics would like.

I dig the X-Men... Read up to the point where somehow some aborigine because a "part" of the X-Men portaling them in and out of places, but not really being part of the team, but they had just gotten their asses handed to them by a bunch of cyborgs called the Reavers...

By then, the story line was getting cluttered with too much stuff, between Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister and the off-shoots that appeared afterwards like eXcalibur and stuff.... Genoa and whatever the hell... It was hard to get back into it and follow the mess that became the storyline.

I'm looking forward to the movie though... I've read that Brett Ratner really didn't follow the great job Bryan Singer did in directing the movie... Kinda like what happened to the Batman movies after Tim Burton left and Joel Schumacher took over... the Schumacher Batmans were horrendous... remember Bat-Nipples on George Clooney? Ugh.

Thankfully, we'll get an action packed X-Men movie knowing that this is the end... not dreading a Schumacher-type disaster.

Yeah there was plenty of action to keep my daughter entertained, but too much focus on Storm (lame character and actress), not enough detail/explanation for some of the other mutants, and the "Iceman fight" (trying not to spoil it) was pretty lame.

Other than that, it was definitely worth the money to see this in the theater, and this'll be in my collection once it's released on DVD.
