So I have been playing this game for about 3 months and I have never used macros. So I have a few questions? Can I have a macro initiate on an event automatically? Such as "if my health is less than 30% heal me" or "If my party member is not buffed them buff them" Is this the way it works?

Personally, I don't trust macros. Anything automated just doesn't take into account all the variableness of gameplay. That's just my opinion though.

What you describe is not a macro, it is a script. A macro is simply a set of commands executed when the macro is called, and how the macro is called can be via a number of means. Usually the call comes from a key binding, ie, putting the macro on one of your toolbars. The other option is to write a mod that can do periodic checks for conditions and if conditions are right, execute the command set.. or execute the command set in response to a certain event. Writing a mod is scripting, and is much more complex than (and a different animal entirely from) a macro.

Macros are harmless; there is no reason to not trust them. One of the most useful macros you'll need when you go on raids of places like UBRS is an assist macro. This macro gets rewritten each time you go on one of these raids. In the raid, you find out who the "main assist" (MA) is, and set the macro accordingly. If it were me, everyone would set their MA macro to /assist kachio, and then whenever anyone hit that button on their toolbar, they would target what I'm targeting. It's necessary for directing damage during a raid situation in order to focus on one enemy instead of spreading the damage around and prolonging the fight (and possibly wiping the raid).

Personally, I'd love a totem set macro.
one that I could set up to drop a full set of 4 totems, save me doing it manually :p Ok so I am lazy =)
Liek I could do one macro to drop a windfury, stoneskin, mana stream , searing totem. another macro to drop a different set. I'll probably have a go at writing one one day, too busy grinding right now hehe

I assumed, from the name, that Totem Stomper was a thing to destroy totems heh. Isn't it cosmos specific though? I HATE cosmos :p

Yeah, I believe that Totem Stomper requires Cosmos. I saw this post earlier and went looking for it to post a link, but I couldn't find anything that was cosmos free.

Actually, you can get it run without it, you just need the dependancies it needs. I forget where I saw the link on how to make it work however.

I'd just like to note that last I heard, any script that performs an action without a corresponding input from the user is against the ToS, and using it is a bannable offense. Actions are typically things that have a / at the beginning. Such as /assist or /target or /cast Fireball (Rank 3). It is perfectly fine to create a macro that you click on to do one of these things. Restrictions are already in place on macros to make it so you can't do more than one action per. I believe that it's possible to do actions in response to events with scripts, but I don't know. Just putting that warning out there.

The actual action? No. However, you can put the icon for your mount in a toolbar, then set a key binding to that slot.

Also, download and install the quickmount equip so you can change to your riding gear when you mount and change back to fighting gear when you dismount. Can be used for all riding items..carrot, gloves and boots.

WTG on the new ride!!
