Wez, where's the review, man?

I personally enjoyed it, but I'm easy to please. The plot was lacking, and the "bad guys" were pretty cheesy, but it was still a lot of fun watching Johnny Depp play that role again.

The movie seemed a little long toward the end (drawn-out), Orlando Bloom and Kiera "I need another sandwich" Knightly could've been casted as extras instead of main roles, and did I mention the bad guys were kinda lame?

Other than that, it was still a fun movie to watch in the theater -- definite rental material. Fans of the first movie might be a little disappointed, and newcomers need to see the first to understand parts of the second movie.

I recommend seeing it in a decent (but not top-of-the-line) theater; I wouldn't pay more than $6 a ticket to see it again.

Yea, I didn't bother with a review because I really didn't have much to say about it. It was decent. A popcorn movie with a big budget and good enough to go see in a theatre, but not good enough to really recommend. I knew people would see it regardless of any comments I made because frankly, there are so many really shitty movies made these days that this is one you kinda have to see just because its going to be fun to watch for the first time, and Depp is always good.

Seriously, what the hell is up with Hollywood lately?

Is it a lack of imagination, or are producers just not willing to fork up the cash required to 'wow' the audience anymore?

I've also heard that American TV has improved drastically in the past few years, meaning less folks want to go to theaters, etc, but I'm stuck with AFN, so most of our TV over here is trash.

...and yes, I've recently grown so secure in my heterosexuality that I can say in a large crowd of people, that I will go see a Johnny Depp movie, just because he's in it [because he's a great actor].

I enjoyed the movie. It wasn't amazing like the first, but it was still worth watching. Not gonna spoil anything for those that haven't seen it, but with the ending, I'm am more looking forward to the next one than I was this one. I've read other places where people have stated something that I agree with, this movie is not as fresh because Depp has never played the same role twice before, and I think this takes away from the movie just a little, although, Depp was definately not a flaw in the movie, of course.

If you haven't seen either, I would suggest going and seeing Superman over POTC, as I believe it to be a better movie. Would recommend both though.

Personally I thought the movie was entertaining to go see, but not one I'd watch more than a few times ever. Depp was definitly good in it, and it had it's funny parts, but the ending, oh GOD

Actually the reason there is so much crap released these days is because the movie business is flourishing (read profitable). They are getting really good at marketing movies and can also keep the costs down for the most part with technology (not talking about big budget blockbusters) so movies that would never turn a profit 5 years ago, can suddenly be made, unleashed upon us and do well enough in the first week or two that combined with DVD sales, are worth making.

Enjoy the craploads of crap.
