So, I was scanning the Warcraft Weekly - 8/15/05 (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general&t=4469790&p=1&tmp=1#post4469790) and noticed the following.
Pet Customization for 1.7 (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-hunter&t=587628&s=blizzard&tmp=1#blizzard)
Cat Form Changes in 1.7 (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-druid&t=343879&s=blizzard&tmp=1#blizzard )
Vampiric Embrace Bump (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-priest&t=308892&s=blizzard&tmp=1#blizzard)

For those without access from work:

Pet Customization for 1.7
All right, folks, here's something that should lift your spirits. The following are the pet customization changes in the 1.7 patch.

You can now train your pet in passive abilities such as increased Armor, Stamina, Fire Resistance, Nature Resistance, Shadow Resistance, Frost Resistance, and Arcane Resistance using their training points.

In addition, there are specialized abilities for certain types of pets:
Bats, Owls, and Carrion Birds can now learn the Screech ability, a fast, single-target attack that also lowers the attack power of all enemies within melee range of the pet.
Cats can now learn the Stealth ability. In addition to being unseen, they receive a damage bonus for their first attack coming out of Stealth.
Scorpids can now learn Scorpid Poison. This poison deals Nature damage over time and stacks up to five times on a single enemy.
Wolves can now learn Furious Howl. The howl adds a flat amount of damage to all nearby party members' next attack (within 15 yards).

The training point costs for all pet abilities have been rebalanced, and Growl is now free for all pets. You can untrain your pet's training points from any Pet Trainer in the major cities for a fee. Similar to talent respecs, untraining a specific pet scales up as you do it more times: 10s, 50s, 1g, 2g, 3g, etc... capping at 10g.

Hunter pets will now gain experience based on the level difference between them and their target, rather than the difference between the Hunters and their target. This will make it much easier to level up a low level pet. You will still need to kill creatures from which the Hunter can gain experience, however.

And lastly -- as a comment to an annoying issue for many -- you can adjust the autocast status of skills with that option in the spellbook.

The designers are looking into further customization, but this is what is coming for 1.7. :)

Cat Form Changes in 1.7
In the upcoming content patch, there are significant changes to Cat Form. Here's the run down:

Cat Form's base damage (not attack power, but the cat form's "weapon" damage) has been increased.
Each point of Agility now adds 1 Attack Power.
Rip's damage per combo point has been increased.
Ferocious Bite's damage per combo point has been increased. In addition, extra energy now converts to damage at a higher rate.
The global cooldown on Tiger's Fury has been replaced with a one-second self cooldown. Its duration has been increased to six seconds.
Rake's damage has been increased.

Also, the combo point problem with Ferocious Bite -- wherein the points would go away on a miss/dodge/parry -- should be resolved.

I have also been informed that talent changes for Druids (which should, among other things, further enhance Feral viability) are still on the way and currently scheduled for the content patch after 1.7.

There is a school of thought that talent changes should be made to increase the Feral form viability, and the developers are of that mind also... but they were also not satisfied with the level of effectiveness for all Druids, regardless of specialization. The changes in 1.7 should boost that significantly.

Vampiric Embrace
When the next content patch releases (version 1.7), Vampiric Embrace will heal 20% of the damage actually caused (including critical hits, buffs etc...) but only heals when shadow spells cause the damage. This should increase the overall health gained when using this ability in addition to helping Shadow Priests melt faces in PvP.

lol... hunters are like 1 step above warlocks for getting shafted by blizzard. we don't have non-stacking shards but we are shorted by 1 bag slot and 1 of our talent trees is completely useless with a 2nd that is mostly useless...
