View Full Version : Why did you choose you 'toon?

I'm an FPS guy and never played a "fantasy" game before and I the way I picked my fellow, well I probally whet about the wrong way. But in the end I am verry happy with my lil'guy. How did I choose? I got on comms and asked Crew, Meth or TC (I forget which) what was needed. He said Druid and I could not picture myself as an "elf" (RL 6'3'' 200lb) Taruen Druid just fit.
How about you?

Pretty much the same sadly. I asked Polaris what was needed and what race he suggested. Everything else is history. Although, I must say its a pretty good fit. I played a necromancer in Everquest for a few years and locks and necros are pretty similar as far as abilities, etc. (Although an EQ necro is probably more powerful than a WoW lock). Overall, I'm pretty happy with my class save the few issues that need to be addressed. But I'm hoping the next patch will include a lot of those fixes that we need. If so, here's to loving WoW a lot more!

I first started out as a pretty undead female Rogue... Then at around lvl 14 (less than a week into the game) I found out the guild needed mages... so I re-rolled.
At first, I went full on role-playing... I thought it'd be kinda cool to play a pretty undead with a cutsie name (Krysikill), but after getting hit on by other undead players (read: "r U hawt IRL?"), I decided to shelf the RP toon, and just go as myself...
A transvestite undead.... The rest is his-story! :p
I've always thought that healers were the most important classes in any game. Played a priest to 60 on Archimonde and liked how "important I always was", plus I like how priest in WoW actually have some offense :D ....guild got together on DS so I figured I would stick to what I know. A good priest is worth his/her weight in gold in any group.

In EverQuest (original) I played a Bard, Druid, Enchanter, then Cleric. In DAoC I played a little of a lot but highest and mostly played Priest. In EQ2 I ended up a Coercer (evil Enchanter) followed by a Defiler (evil Shaman).
I always ended up playing a healer and a crowd control class, never the one who did big dmg. Even when I started WoW, I intended to go with a Warlock (memories of the Plane of Nightmare flaming horse) but ended up going with an Alliance Priest. When I started here on Darkspear I decided to go for something that had some power, and well I liked what I saw from other Mages with the utility of not buying drinks and food and the teleports. So here I am.
Got Guild Wars a week or so ago and ended up making a Warrior, I must admit that is also a nice change of pace from being the support in the back all the time.

Lol, I've been thinking the same thing. After playing a priest to 60 on another server and now playing one here, I'm dieing to put on some armor and cleave somebodies head in two.

That is why I just made another toon...warrior style ;) I can login now and in a matter of 2 minutes have 3 whispers wanting me to join a group to an instance :D

Ive grown to like my warrior in GW so much I may dump my lock for one in WoW when my Mage gets to 45 or so. Duno though. May just play the one in GW to get my fill. Take on 20 mobs with my little hired healer with constent adds and dont die, pretty gd sweet.

Yea, the hired mercenaries in GW are pretty appealing. Those monks will even rez anyone that died mid-battle. Pretty f'ing sweet!

played a rogue before, sticking to what i know well on darkspear. I picked undead because of WOTF...
I always thought the tauren in bear form looked fuggin sweet, that & the Druid & shammy were the only classes I haven't played to at least 25, so I thought I would try it.
I fell in love with it. I love being able to adapt to different situations or roles a party needs.
Chose a Warrior as my alt because I had a 60 paly on another server & miss plate :P

I chose the undead female because she had big hooters and the rogue so I could pickpockets and open lockboxes. (a thief with big hooters to distract the men with :D )

Me, I chose my Orc because of his personality...green, grey hair, great dancer...awesome physique, no horns...no bones showing...jack of all trades, master of none. I chose the Shaman because of his healing powers, casts and ability to piss people off. I chose Methuselah...because it fits my personality and age!

Forgot about the name. I use Mhiz on this toon for short. Wayback in my EQ days my friend that started me on it last name was Mizell, so I made my Troll Shammy Mhizell.
One of my MANY toons in SWG what a wookie named Mhizell & my DN bros would call me Mhiz for short. So with this toon I just used that. I went with Masuimi because of this hottie fetish model named Masuimi Max I drool over. (Mostly her tats though)

I did research because my normal name for games wouldn't work for WOW..(too cute) and Vorgra sounded great and I liked was it stood for...thought it fit the game.

When we joined this server I decided to try out something different.
So i tried out a mage.
Have loved it ever since.

Thread is a few days old, but I might as well get my first post under my belt...
My friends all played, and when I got my new comp (after years of needing one), I picked up the game. And then I saw that I could be an UNDEAD! "How freakin' cool is that?" I thought. "I can be a brain-eatin' zombie bastard!" And then I saw that I could be a rogue, so from there, it was on...
Lebeau, undead rogue!
(For those of you who don't know, I'm named after the X-Man Gambit. Yeah, I'm a geek, but don't you know that we're cool now? :p )

Name Asharin, cos I've pretty much used it in most games ever since I quit using Static in CS cos it was too common :p Asharin was a made up name.
Never got into MMO's due to not wanting to pay to play, but when NWN came out and servers popped up, I could do the fantasy rp thing and not pay, so was hooked.
Got into SWG and hooked up with DN, and tried WoW in 2 stress tests and OB, then got it on retail til I got fed up for reasons that shall stay within the guild, and recently came back and started over as horde with the rest of them
Shammy cos, I like the Melee magic mix, not because it's supposedly uber (though that's a nice factor huh? =) )
Gotten to level 30 in about 5/6 days without grinding.prolly take me forever to get to 60 lol
